Dancing with the Stars racism claim.

The PC fascists here have had a fairly thin week and have had to scrape the bottom of the barrel in order to find something to get suitably outraged about in order to occupy whatever it is that passes for their tiny judgemental minds. None of the right wing radio ‘shock jocks’ have said anything racial, one or two of the lefties may have but if so no one was listening. Even Andrew Bolt has played nice.

Fortunately DWS judge, Helen Richey said something that with a considerable stretch of the imagination and a few contextual spin tactics, could be misunderstood to infer a racist tone, if white on white makes the grade:

RESPECTED Dancing With The Stars judge Helen Richey has spoken of her disappointment, surprise and sadness at being accused of making a racist remark when questioning a Russian-born dancer's grasp of English on last week's show.
Twitter reacted after Richey questioned Elena Samodanova's teaching of contestant Shannon Noll.
"There's something not quite right here, is it the language? I mean, I'm not sure how good your English is.
''Do you understand what we're saying when we say we're not seeing Shannon shine enough?" she said on last Sunday's show
Racism claims are becoming more difficult to understand as a in this era it doesn’t actually need to involve different races. Under the claim outlined above you could be accused of it for asking some Pommy if he could even understand what you were talking about, given the difference in idiomatic expressions. For the language Nazi’s it is very much whatever you want it to be.

What is a shame about this incident is that Helen, who looks like a bit of a feisty kind of chick has abjectly surrendered in the face of these allegations. She looks like she is made of sterner stuff.

The problem for celebrities, even if they have a mind of their own is, that they have some sort of need to live their lives to other people’s values. It doesn’t seem to matter that those others have no right to impose their views on them and are self-righteous pricks, it just seems to be the way it is done.

For some reason, in this day and age people are PC whipped and have forgotten that it’s OK to tell idiots to f**k off.

How right your conclusion is. Being honest and open is no longer an option.

I fear it's all too late for society in general; but they won't change me now!

  2. Nice to see you back here.

I am quite disappointed with Helen, I thought she was a chick who had it together and felt she would be relatively fearless in the face of stupidity. Unfortunately, she has not only bowed to pressure, but has made up a bullshit story about seeking out the Russian dancer to ensure she wasn't offended.

I think the phrase "toughen up princess" is appropriate.

  4. Well, after Bill Engvall's dance in this past week's show, I'm pretty sure it's a VERY racist show. And ENGLISH woman dressing like a Native American and doing a "white man tames the tribal savage" story through dance. Why don't you just put her in black-face and make it about a fucking slave-driver making a black woman fall in love with him!? It's the same thing!!! You DO NOT dress up as another race, ESPECIALLY as some sick caricature of one!!! I was watching for Bill Nye, because he is AWESOME, and thank goodness that was his last episode, because I WILL NOT be watching any more...That display was disgusting.

  5. You seem to be the only one complaining over this. The show you are referring to is the American version, the one here is the Australian one, which I don't watch anyway.

A google search though, didn't reveal any suggestion of racism anywhere and simply referred to him channeling the Lone Ranger. You are probably being oversensitive.
